Matelo Mate & Mint is cold-brewed yerba maté with natural mint flavour, lightly sparkling, in a 330ml can. That's it. No artificial sweeteners hiding behind clever wording. Just 5 ingredients. Yerba maté, water, unrefined cane sugar, lemon juice and natural mint flavour. It tastes clean and cooling, with the gentle earthiness maté is known for lifted by a fresh burst of mint on the finish. The natural bitterness of the leaf is still there, softened and brightened by the freshness of mint. Refreshing more than sweet. Closer to a proper iced tea than a soft drink. We drink ours cold, straight from the fridge, or poured over ice with a wedge of lime and a few extra mint leaves if the mood takes us. It's good in the morning, better on a warm afternoon, and works especially well as a mixer with white rum, gin or vodka when the evening calls for it: a ready-made mojito base, more or less.
